My work starts with the most natural and extant elements of my life. These elements are defined by selected features of my life where I add or change details and as they become more solidly defined, an artwork is born. My work is headed in the direction of ‘unknown’ and I call this to be a ‘creating process’. It is not bounded to one direction, but rather, is captivated by a flowing freedom. My artwork opens itself to many directions as well as repeatedly presenting distinctive elements of color, shape and material. And it is these distinctive elements that come together to form a symphony created by the ‘unknown’. Although my usual success is marked when these pieces fit together harmoniously, sometimes I give a little leeway for an unrefined, crude element in an attempt to create a deviation from the artwork. These deviations are the source of my curiosity as well as the source of my enjoyment. And ultimately, these deviations are the fountainhead of my energy to go towards the ‘unknown’.

나의 작업은 내게 가장 자연스러운, 주변에 있는 것들로부터 시작된다.
이들은 본래 있던 곳으로부터 나에게 선택되어져 붙여지고 변형되며......하나의 작품으로 이루어 진다. Collage는 여러 조각들의 모음에 관한 것… 나의 Collage 작업은 '하나 더하기 하나는 하나'라고 말하고 싶다.
내 작업은 'unknown'으로 향하는 여정이며 그 것은 곧 '창조적인 과정'이다.
나는 그 과정에서 한가지 방향으로 고착되어 지지 않는 유동적인 자유를 즐긴다.
나의 작품들은 여러 방향으로 열려있음과 동시에 색,형태,재료 등의 특징적인 요소들이 그 안에 반복해서 등장한다. 그 것들간의 조화를 이루되 어느 한 부분을 약간 생경하게 함으로써 작은 일탈을 시도한다.
그러한 생소함으로 인해 호기심이 배가되는 즐거움이 있으며 무엇보다도 그 것은 내게 있어서 'unknown'으로 가고자 하는 에너지의 원천이 된다.
